Awe-inspiring Looks for Autumn

by The Social Butterfly

Girl Meets Boy-ish Trend

The White and Black Jacket: Loving this look that can add a little bit of glamour to jeans, and make the perfect contrast with a brightly-hued skirt. Best of all it’s a piece in your closet that can go from day to night!

Double Monk Straps – every bootie needs them! We’ve always seen them on men’s footwear but now we can wear them too! Such a great look for ankle boots.

Chic Equestrian

The Equestrian Detail: It’s all in the details and this season it is all about those equestrian bits on your favourite accessories like watches, belts, jewellery, handbags, and tops! Pair this trend with a luxurious autumn hue like cognac to give your outfit a polished, chic look. Update this look by wearing multiple necklace strands and stacking up those bangles.

Colour Crush

The Ox Blood/Bordeaux/ Burgundy/Maroon Madness: I just can’t stop wearing my beautiful burgundy velvet Scarletts! It is a dark yet vibrant colour that epitomizes glamour and confidence. I love this colour and have already started incorporating it into my wardrobe! Nails, lipstick, shoes, skirts, tops, jeans, handbag… the possibilities are endless!

Luxurious in Leather

The Leather Skirt: Luxe leather style is perfection for fall. Too much of a bold look for you? Buy an A-line skirt rather than a pencil skirt or leather skinnies. It is a bit more playful, feminine and less dominatrix. But hey I would go for all three!

Brocade Beauty

Metallic Brocade: A detailed delicate fabric with threads of lurex intertwined to make this material feel ultra rich. Talk about recycled fashion! Brocade was huge in the 17th century and now it’s back! I love this elegant metallic brocade on skirts, cropped pants and fitted jackets. Modernize the look with some metallic shoes and a solid coloured top! Too much to handle? Try an all black brocade pattern first!  Subtle but definitely not boring!

Falling for these Styles

Summer Must Haves

by Vicki

As well as Butterfly Twists there is one other item we consider a fashion 'must have' and that's the perfect shades.  We heart the Aviator Ray Bans for facial cover up - what's your perfect style?

AW12

by The Social Butterfly

I know everyone is delighted with the recent glorius weather and it's certainly made the Olympics much more enjoyable for all concerned but I can't help wishing (just a little bit) that Autumn was upon us already.  Fact is I am totally bored with my current wardrobe and the near empty summer sale racks are failing to inspire me.  I want to wear the small section in stores called 'NEW COLLECTIONS' but its clearly too warm for cashmere and leather.  Oh how I heart leather. . .in trousers, in shoes, in shorts.  But even a cheeky leather short would be too uncomfortable for this weather and so I wait patiently for a change in weather and an update of my wardrobe knowing only too well that in just a couple of months I will wish it warm again.

How To Solve a Problem Like Yahoo. . .

by The Social Butterfly

Employ a woman.

One who is 6 months pregnant and who intends to take ''limited'' time off with her baby.

Is this a giant leap for women?  Should her pregnancy even be an issue?

Discuss.

Can Flats Make or Break an Outfit?

by The Social Butterfly

Are your flats just back-up or would you ever wear them to the main event? Are they suitable for the red carpet and a special occasion or do heels win every-time?

Many celebs have been quoted as saying that heels are needed to make an outfit and that flats can turn a gorgeous outfit into a big mission failure. We obviously disagree, flats can keep an outfit fresh and youthful providing you remember the number one rule - straight back and don't let your shoulders wander forward!  It's true that heels can give you better posture but they can kill your feet within an hour. . . .

Sneak Preview of SS13 Trends!

by The Social Butterfly

Wanted to share with you the trends we have picked up on for SS13, these are fresh of the catwalks and can be seen at all the industry trade shows. Our challenge is using them as inspiration for our shoe collection - any ideas welcome!

The trends:

Layered denim

Snizzling snake skin

Summer basics in a wide range of colours

Chic neutrals

Rock and leather

Neon

Lace

Which is your favourite?  I must admit to having a bit of a leather thing, especially in trousers and shorts and it works beautifully with lace to stop it being too vamp.
